One year ago, I planned and schemed and schemed further on a SURPRISE birthday and engagement party. I got my girl though my plans to surprise went completely awry and fell flat. Probably not the most romantic proposal of all time (did I mention that I kneeled by a REALLY deserted road, probably with some foreign workers enjoying the usual sight while resting by the bushes??) but I'm sure we will have a good laugh looking back. Just the way I like it.
One year later, I planned and schemed and schemed harder than before, very determined to put the wrongs of the previous year right! And I guess, the SURPRISE McParty last weekend is going on the laugh list too...
Post-mortem of my failure?
Here goes:
Here goes:
1) ALWAYS ensure that you get the friends who celebrate her birthday every year to book her for a birthday dinner!
2) ALWAYS ensure that you air your car after you have collected the Happy meals (yes...we all got to relive our childhood days with the toys that came with it as well) before you fetch the birthday girl.
Thought she an iPhone |
3) ALWAYS ensure that NO friends stand within sight of the entrance if you wanna maintain some level of surprise (Don't left and right over your shoulders. Veron, it's YOU!!!)
No iPhone. Cheeseburger lunchbox. |
4) ALWAYS ensure that any friend who can't meet her on the eve of her birthday comes up with good 'reasons'! (Hsing: why can't you make it? V***n: I am busy making cake and I can't tell you the reason now but you will understand eventually.) Des: BLANK LOOK... Remedy to solve the above? ENSURE that as many friends as possible make it for the party so that she is too busy and too distracted to remember how hopeless you are at surprise parties. Cute little children, namely Megan, Joshua, Vera, Javier, Desmond, will help as well. The puppy-look coupled with unkempt hair and empty side pockets flicked out shouldn't harm.
Venting her anger cos no iPhone |
I hope you had a childish good time for this was really your last birthday celebration as Little Miss Bossy...
